With a staff of 27, 150+ Ph D students and 55 post-doctoral fellows, the Institute has the critical mass for highly integrated research across the food chain, from production, food technology and engineering, consumer studies, food safety, food law and nutrition. Clare is a Ph D Research student based at the University College Dublin, the overall coordinators of the Food4me project. She has a BSc (Hons) in Nutritional Sciences from the University College Cork and a MSc in Dietetics from the University of Ulster Coleraine.Her undergraduate dissertation investigated the effect of processing in commercial tomato products.Hannah spent her honors year placement at the Centre for Public Health Nutrition Research (Ninewells Hospital, Dundee) working on the MRC funded feasibility intervention study Weigh Well.For the last 5 years I have been a Lecturer and then Reader at Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen and have had a significant role in teaching and developing the BSc programmes in Nutrition and Nutrition and Dietetics. Based on her Masters' thesis investigating the effect of B vitamin status on cognitive function in older people, she was awarded best poster at a British Dietetic Association symposium in 2011 and had her abstract published in the Journal of Human Nutrition and Dietetics.My main research experience is in 3 interlinked areas: During my 24 year academic career I have led research projects concerned with dietary interventions, surveys and dietary assessment methodology including a project to monitor the Scottish Diet.Member of the Institute of Food Science and Technology (MIFST).
